 On What Grounds? is a locally owned coffee shop and breakfast stop in Berlin, Maryland. We are proud to feature Intelligentsia Coffee, roasted according to the highest standards and carefully prepared by our highly trained and experienced baristas. 

In addition to our high-quality coffee, we also offer a wide selection of specialty teas, breakfast sandwiches, baked goods and pastries, house made chocolates (and whipped cream!), and a heaping handful of small-town charm.

I can’t say Enough good things about this place!! Love it so much, the couple that owns it are, darling! So friendly and kind, helpful! Stopped in to get a gift card for someone that goes here, it is my new favorite! You will not be disappointed, the breakfast sandwich was completely to die for🥓🥚🥯🥐, and a group of men sitting in the front window having their coffee, they’re like the welcome crew! If you’re lucky enough to stop in when they Are there, you’ll have a good conversation and a few laughs! Stop in I promise you won’t regret it!

Great little local coffee shop. We had between us: iced coffees, smoothie, scone and breakfast sandwhich. Everything was yummy. Staff were friendly. The shop is really cute. Prices were competitve.

This charming coffee house in the historic town of Berlin, MD, never fails to impress. The customer service is consistently exceptional, with the staff always going above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Their turmeric latte is, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever tasted—smooth, creamy, and perfectly spiced.

The homemade chocolates are another highlight; you can truly taste the care and quality in every piece.

Whether you’re popping in for a quick coffee, a leisurely breakfast, or a delicious pastry or chocolate treat, the cafe’s inviting atmosphere and top-notch quality make it a standout. It’s my go-to spot for coffee, and I highly recommend it!
