The Happy Hooker started providing bay fishing trips in Ocean City in 1992. Although the boat was upgraded in 2005, she has always operated on Talbot Street Pier. The Happy Hooker is a specially designed 37 foot bay fishing headboat. She carries all USCG required safety equipment and has a USCG licensed captain along with a professional mate.

Anglers aboard the Happy Hooker can catch Flounder, Croaker and Rockfish. All rods, reels and bait are provided. The captain and mate will assist you with set up and will find the best spots in the bay where the fish are biting.

My husband and son had a great time fishing with Happy Hooker. My son caught 3 fish which he released due to their size. There were about 20 people on the boat, on a Tuesday. Not too crowded and there was elbow room. The trip was cut short by 15 minutes with no explanation. I'd recommend going out with Happy Hooker on a weekday when it's less crowded. All mates were super friendly and helpful. 4 stars (not 5 because they cut the trip short).

I understand that fishing is fishing and isn’t always 100% catch rate but the biggest down fall of this style of fishing is they over crowd the boats. 90% of the time your either tangled up on other peoples line which eats up time as you wait to be un tangled or your only able to fish a hole for a short period of time. There is a reason why its price is less than a private charter. Biggest take away is the more you spend on a charter the better your odds are on catching fish.

Captain was very moody. The mate- Andy was amazing and helpful. Rod was crappy. Gave it back to captain cause it was too hard to reel line in. The ceramic was missing on the one eyelet and the reel was sticking. They gave me a new rod and when my spouses line snapped they gave the crappy rod to my spouse. My spouse missed two fish cause as soon as fish was hooked rod locked up cause again it was crap. Very disappointed. Been faithful to the happy hooker for about 15 years. Next year will try the tortuga. Oh and depth and fish finder didn't start working till an hour into the trip.
